I was slapped so hard, that I fell on ground and it was painful. This is a true story, my story. I had just completed graduation, and entered in new phase of responsibility, social norms & society. And suddenly I got a tight slap, from life (little dramatic I know).

As I entered this new phase of life called adulthood, I felt that I don’t know so many things around social & life skills:

Before adulthood: Learned to be strong
Later: Learning to be expressive
Before adulthood: Learned competition
Later: Learning collaboration
Before adulthood: I need to make a girl friend
Later: I need to make my wife my friend
Before adulthood: Learned friends are essential
Later: Learning Family and friends, both are essential
Before adulthood: Learned to talk to others
Later: Learning to talk to myself
Before adulthood: Learned economics and civics
Later: Learning how to manage budget and save for future
Before adulthood: Learned about physical health
Later: Learning what is mental health
Before adulthood: Learned to respect elders
Later: Learning to respect everyone irrespective of age, people with different financial status, cab driver, cobbler, househelp, shopkeeper…
Before adulthood: Learned to manage notebooks and assignment
Later: Learning to manage Time
Before adulthood: Learned to work hard and become topper
Later: Learning to rise along with my family, and help them grow
Before adulthood: Learned money is important
Later: Learning money is not that important
Before adulthood: Learned to come up with excuse for mistakes
Later: Learning to own my mistakes
Before adulthood: Learned to listen properly
Later: Learning to listen to unsaid things
Before adulthood: Learned failure is bad
Later: Learning failure is part
Before adulthood: Learned not to cry
Later: Learning, it is ok to cry
Neither the education system nor the parents are responsible for things I didn’t learn, its me, my mistake, I own it and I will learn it.
